The event was attended by distinguished speakers from the European Commission (DG CONNECT – Copyright Unit), the EU AI Office, European CMOs, as well as leading academics/researchers from the international community.
The conference's topics covered the regulatory framework of AI and intellectual property rights, uses AI tools in collective management, new forms of creation, as well as special issues, such as deepfakes, voice cloning and digital journalism.
The event focused on the rapid developments brought about by AI in the creation, distribution and exploitation of artistic works, as well as on the new challenges emerging for the collective management at national and European level.
During the proceedings, important legislative initiatives in Europe were presented, as well as critical court decisions pending between rightsholders and major AI providers, across the spectrum of artistic creation (music, publishers/Press, visual arts etc.).
In addition, the presentations highlighted the need to develop modern regulatory and institutional tools that will ensure the protection of creators and rightsholders. Of particular interest were specific uses of advanced digital tools to enhance and automate processes in documentation and distribution systems in European organizations, such as SACEM and Buma/Stemra.
AUTODIA is committed to protecting creators and righstholders against GenAI.
