The event was opened by the President of the Chamber, Mr. Yiannis Gerontitis, the President of the Federation, Mr. Ilias Thalassis and the President of the Association “XENIOS ZEUS” Mr. Vasilis Efthymiou, welcoming the representatives of the two CMOs, AUTODIA and GEA.
The Chamber members who attended had the opportunity to be informed in detail by the representatives of the Societies, Mr. Yiannis Giokas, AUTODIA's Commercial Director and Mr. Yiannis Tsakalakos, Head of the GEA Commercial Department, regarding the current regulatory framework governing Intellectual Property Rights & Related Rights.
During the event, a fruitful dialogue developed, through which the members expressed concerns and questions regarding: the determination and amount of royalties, the categories of businesses that should be licensed for public performance of music, as well as the necessity of paying two Societies representing a different type of right.
Mr. Gkiokas provided clarifications and useful information regarding the AUTODIA's Tarrifs, as well as the Collective Agreements it has signed with Chambers and large User Associations in the country, such as the Union of Hellenic Chambers and the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels, including debt settlements. He pointed out that music copyright is the main revenue -for many, the only one for their survival- for Greek composers and lyricists.
The event was also attended by AUTODIA's Deputy Director for Central Greece Nektarios Minas, Representative Yiannis Vagias and Head of Marketing Gioulina Manolatou.
The following Chamber's BoD members participated in the event:. Dimitrios Skarlas (Second Vice President), Angelis Michelis (Head of Business Advisory Support), Evangelos Angelis, Konstantinos Bouzaios and Georgios Andreou.
