The 100th anniversary of Mikis Theodorakis birth: A tour in China

The lyrical work of Mikis Theodorakis, as recorded on Maria Papageorgiou’s album “Correspondence”, is to be presented for the first time on tour in China. The concert will feature two great voices that the composer himself had singled out: Tania Tsanaklidou and Maria Papageorgiou.

At the Press Conference “The Lyrical Mikis Theodorakis: 100 Years Since His Birth - on tour in China” held yesterday at the Basil & Elise Goulandris Foundation, that was attended by journalists, artists and delegates of private and public entities, all information regarding the upcoming tour in honor of Mikis Theodorakis was presented.

The tour will take place in three major cities in China, Beijing, Shanghai and Jiangxi, from 25/7 to 5/8 2025, and will also include the landmark day of the 100th anniversary of Mikis Theodorakis birthday, on 29 July, offering the Chinese audience a unique opportunity to experience his great work.

Present at the Press Conference, which was moderated by the radio producer Dimitris Vrachnos, was the Deputy Minister of Contemporary Culture, Mr. Jason Fotilas, who delivered an opening speech, speaking warmly of the two Greek performers who will represent our country in China, while at the same time informing the audience about the strengthened, expanded cultural relations between Greece and China.

AUTODIA participates as a "SUPPORTER" in this initiative that honors the leading Greek composer, within the framework of its bilateral cooperation, both with the Chinese CMO of music rights MCSC, and SACEM, which is involved in the collection of the Greek music author's mechanical royalties on behalf of Schott Music (Musicentry).
