The event brought together representatives from Collective Management Organizations, institutional representatives of the European Commission and national authorities, as well as experts of the field. Discussions focused mainly on the critical developments shaping the future of the author’s rights, such as buy-out contracts, changes in the streaming market, but most importantly the urgent need to create a reliable and fair licensing model for AI.
At a rather critical juncture for European legislation, participants exchanged views and proposals with the aim of shaping policy decisions that protect creativity and at the same time ensure the sustainability of cultural ecosystems. GESAC, firmly committed to its institutional role, closely follows developments in the European institutions and at the same time implements targeted actions, awareness-raising campaigns and projects in cooperation with its members, thus promoting collective management and creator’s rights.
This year's 35th anniversary of GESAC was also the occasion for a symbolic message of unity. All participants received a collector's notebook as a token of the event, thus highlighting the power of cooperation between European organizations and the importance of solidarity in the creative community.
Autodia remains committed to representing and defending the interests of Greek creators, both in Europe and globally.
